Uplifting news for automotive audiophiles: famous audio brand Sennheiser is working with extravagance automaker Karma Automotive to make an in-car audio system.

Sennheiser will lend its loudspeaker and microphone technology to the project, making an Ambeo sound system for tuning in to audio and accepting phone calls as people drive.

The brand’s Ambeo Soundbar was presented at CES 2018 and dazzled with its 3D sound virtualization technology. Carrying a similar idea to car audio is a surprising choice however it could improve the experience of tuning in to music while driving. The technology can take audio from any source, regardless of whether it isn’t explicitly 3D audio, and transform it into a customizable immersive 3D playback.
