According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, men, overall, bite the dust just about five years sooner than ladies.
Everybody plunked down with a Middle Georgia specialist for Men’s Health Month. As per menshealthmonth.org, the reason for the month is to increase the consciousness of preventable medical issues and empower early discovery and treatment of illness among men and young men.
Dr. Harry Strothers, seat of medication for Mercer and head of family prescription for Navicent Health, says diabetes is a main medical problem among men in the South.
“Men need to make sure that they are getting checked regularly with their family doctor for all the preventative treatments that they need and all the screening tests that they need like colon cancer and lung cancer and things like that,” Strothers said.
Strothers says cardiovascular ailments is another driving medical problem. Getting customary exercise and consuming less calories are the most ideal approaches to remain solid.
“Don’t go on crash diets because crash diets usually mean that they bounce back with a weight higher than what you started with. So, the thing is to find a diet that people can make part of their life, not just something that’s temporary,” said Strothers.
